VCK Democratic Women to meet May 28

City Manager Bill Burrough will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Virginia Clinton Kelley Democratic Women's Club on May 28 at the Landmark Building, 201 Market St.

Burrough will discuss ongoing projects in downtown and throughout the community.

A social will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 6 p.m. All interested persons are welcome to attend.

Preceptor Epsilon holds 'movie afternoon'

The Preceptor Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will have a "movie afternoon" today. The carpool will leave Central Baptist Church at 1 p.m. The chapter's last meeting will be held at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant at 5:30 p.m. Monday. There will not be a carpool to this meeting.

PACA's monthly meeting set for Monday

The Park Avenue Community Association's monthly meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Garland County Pre-K School building, 220 Tom Ellsworth Drive.

The agenda will include PACA Vice President Briana Moore's presentation on the David F. Watkins Park Splash Pad, a report on Summerfest 2019, a report on Light Uptown fundraiser, city and county news and other items of interest to the Park Avenue neighborhood, followed by an open discussion.

All Park Avenue friends and neighbors are welcome. Meetings are held the third Monday of each month.

Library board to meet Monday

The Garland County Library Board of Directors will meet at the Garland County Library, 1427 Malvern Ave., at noon Monday.

Patrons who plan to address concerns with the board are asked to obtain a request form at the library's circulation desk.
