A local man who was found passed out in his vehicle after his concerned girlfriend called 911 for help was arrested early Saturday on felony drug charges when meth and marijuana were allegedly found in his possession.

Zachary Kyle Aslett, 32, who lists a Grayleaf Court address, was taken into custody shortly after 5 a.m. and charged with possession of meth with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, each punishable by up to 20 years in prison, possession of drug paraphernalia, punishable by up to six years, and a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana with purpose to deliver, punishable by up to one year in jail.

Aslett remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of $5,000 bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 4:45 a.m., Hot Springs police Officer Richard Davis responded to the Circle K, 2616 Albert Pike, regarding a welfare check and spoke to a woman who stated her boyfriend, identified as Aslett, had been gone for two days and was now "passed out in his truck."

She said she had taken his phone from him and tried to wake him up but couldn't. She said she was scared because there were messages in his phone about selling and doing drugs so she wanted police to check on him.

Davis said he found Aslett passed out in the driver's seat of a gray Ford Ranger and tried several times to wake him up by knocking on the door. Officers finally entered the vehicle through the unlocked passenger door and were able to wake him.

When he awoke, Aslett was reportedly "very disoriented" with "extremely dilated pupils" but was able to give his name. Aslett reportedly gave officers consent to search the vehicle and denied having anything illegal inside.

Davis allegedly located a pill bottle with suspected marijuana, 3.5 grams, in the center console and a glass marijuana pipe. He also found digital scales in the passenger seat so Aslett was taken into custody.

In searching him, officers allegedly found two baggies of what later tested positive for meth, 7 grams, in his pocket.

Stacey Florence Easter, 33, who lists a Bernard Street address, was taken into custody near her listed residence and charged with possession of a controlled substance, meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia, each punishable by up to six years in prison.

Easter remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of a zero bond parole hold and is set to appear today in district court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly before 10 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the Bernard Street residence regarding a complaint about a trespasser and it was noted officers had responded to the same address around 7 p.m. that night.

The caller told police a woman, identified as Easter, was trespassing in the abandoned lot next door. A computer check showed Easter had a warrant for a parole violation. Officers located Easter in the front yard of the abandoned residence and took her into custody on the warrant.

When asked if she "had anything on her she shouldn't," Easter reportedly said she had a sunglasses case in her purse she found earlier and she didn't know what was in it. She reportedly stated she was "clean" and didn't use drugs anymore.

Police looked in her purse and found the sunglasses case which contained a used syringe, a makeshift tourniquet and a container with 0.1 gram of what later tested positive for meth.

According to court records, Easter was convicted on Sept. 12, 2017, in Independence County of possession of a controlled substance, meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia, and was sentenced to one year in prison. She was previously convicted June 21, 2016, also in Independence County, of possession of a controlled substance, meth, and sentenced to five years in prison.
