Hot Springs Parks & Trails Department employees were installing a 30-foot-tall animated Christmas tree in Hill Wheatley Plaza on Tuesday. The tree features nearly 4,000 LED lights synchronized to music.

Because of the display, the southwest corner of the plaza, near the Hot Springs Visitor Center, will remain closed until the first week in January.

The public can still access the jug fountain but is asked to use caution when in the area and not to move any barricades.
