Civic clubs

Rotary Club of North Garland County, known as Scenic 7 Rotary, meets at noon on the first, second and third Thursdays at Charlie's Pizza Pub, 127 McNeely Circle, and adjourns by 1 p.m. On fourth Thursdays, the club meets after hours at 5 p.m. Visitors are welcome. Hot Springs Carousel Readers' Theater entertains audiences with performances emphasizing humor and enthusiasm. There is limited memorization since actors have scripts in front of them. Downtown Derby Dolls nonprofit roller derby league welcomes all ladies 18 years and older to drop in and give roller derby a try. All gear needed is on site, and no experience is necessary. Beginner "Fresh Meat" practices are held in the Hot Springs Junior Academy gym. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Sundays. There is a drop-in fee of $5.
