Simpson to attend inaugural PSA

Legacy Law Group recently announced that Brenda Simpson has been selected to attend the inaugural Public Service Academy presented by the Arkansas Bar Association and the Clinton School of Public Service in November and January.

The Arkansas Bar Association and the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service are presenting this Academy to support lawyers who desire, may consider or are curious about public service at any level, a news release said.

Simpson graduated cum laude from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law in May of 2014 and was the recipient of the 2014 Student Public Service Award and Dean's Certificate of Distinguished Service. She holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Management from George Washington University, as well as in Business Administration from Webster University.

Originally from Ohio, Simpson enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1986. She graduated basic training as an Honor Graduate in January 1987. She completed her undergraduate degree in Criminology, graduating magna cum laude from Saint Leo University in 1996, and earned her commission through Officer Training School as a Distinguished Graduate in 1998. Simpson is a combat veteran, having served a one-year tour in Iraq. After 24 years of service, she retired in December 2010 and relocated to Arkansas. Her military decorations include the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters. Simpson served as a commissioner on the Arkansas Veterans Commission from 2013-2015.
