HSV Rotarians hear about Lifelong Learning Institute

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Larry Wilson of Lifelong Learning Institute of Hot Springs Village addressed the Sept. 5 meeting of the Rotary Club of Hot Springs Village.

The program is in its fourth year, with Wilson having served as director for three.

"A program like LLI is vital to the Village. It keeps our minds active and is a great way to have fun, travel, discover new things. We are getting a good handle on what people want as programs," Wilson said, according to a news release from the club.

The types of courses offered this fall include music and arts, culinary events, state and local history, science and technology, and lifestyle issues.

Upcoming programs include Arkansas history classes beginning on Sept. 23, a program with Mid-America Science Museum on Oct. 18, culinary classes at The Beehive on Oct. 21, and a Conway Twitty tribute concert on Nov. 1.

Villager David Childs is coordinating an LLI series called "Your Thoughts" that will be held once a month starting Oct. 14 in which people will discuss various topics.

Wilson said there is a "great deal" on LLI membership at this time: anyone who joins now for an annual calendar year membership that usually begins in January will receive 16 months rather than 12. Memberships are $45 per person or $75 per couple. Visit https://www.hsvlli.org/ for more information.

Guests are always welcome at the Hot Springs Village club which meets in the Fireside Dining Room at Good Sam's, 121 Cortez Road, Thursdays at 6:30 a.m.
