Meeting a record breaker

Submitted photo Former Lake Hamilton track and cross country athlete Colby Swecker, left, shakes hands with former Jacksonville track and field coach Bobby Pruitt Saturday at Lake Hamilton High School. In April, Swecker broke Pruitt's Nashville Scrapper Relay record of 4:31.1 set in 1967 by completing the race in 4:27.12. Pruitt, then an athlete at Beebe before attending the University of Arkansas, wanted to meet Swecker and congratulate him for breaking the record. Swecker is currently a freshman track and cross country athlete at UALR, and he is the current Lake Hamilton record-holder in the 800-meter run and won the Class 5A 1600-meter run last spring.
