Protesters not 'peaceful'

Dear editor:

In response to the letter of Bill and Joyce Fritz, published Tuesday, July 28, apparently, "government forces" cannot protect American citizens.

I have a few issues with your opinion. One: the police force was established to "protect and serve." When they are unwilling or unable to do so, we need weapons to protect ourselves from any threat.

Two: the couple did not have automatic weapons. It is illegal for private citizens to own them. Mr. McCloskey had an AR15 which is a semi-automatic rifle. AR is an abbreviation for Armalite, the manufacturer of this rifle. It is not an M-16, the weapon used by the military.

Three: They were not "waving them around." They were protecting themselves and their property.

Four: They live in a gated community. It is supposed to be secure. Anyone who doesn't live there cannot be there without permission.

Five: The protesters were not peaceful. Unless you consider it "peaceful" if someone breaks down your door and tells you they will live in your house. If the protesters were on their way to the mayor's house, why did they stop to harass the McCloskeys?

Six: the terms "protester" and "conservative" are not mutually exclusive.

Research the facts, not what people tell you.

Stop fighting each other

Dear editor:

We need to stop fighting with each other. It's a waste of time. We need to come together and make our leaders do the right thing for all of us.

We are wasting precious time. Covid-19 doesn't care what party you are. Just ask Jason Rapert.

So please direct your anger at local, state, and the federal government. We have the power. We don't have to go to work. We don't have to do anything.

They need to solve this; this is why we elected them!

Why is God mad?

Dear editor:

Some Christians believe God is mad at America because of gay people and abortion. I would argue he is mad at us because of corporate greed, political corruption, and our never-ending wars. More human beings have been killed with the war on terror than the Holocaust. Pro-life on Sunday and pro-death/pro-war on Monday is hypocrisy.

KJV Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Well, everybody have a blessed day and God have mercy.
