A little trivia test to pass the time

OPINION

As said before, I have a penchant for trivia.

It was so apparent early on that my mother once asked, "Why are you filling your mind with so much useless knowledge?"

Later on, she realized -- at least to some degree -- that journalists need to know a lot about various subjects and all that minutia can actually be quite helpful.

For the past several months, I have amused myself in part by making various mental lists of favorite films, television programs, stage musicals, actors and actresses, authors, political figures, and such. I repeatedly tell myself that these are good regimens for my brain health, along with working through a number of crossword puzzle books that I keep at the ready.

During these seemingly interminable days and restless nights, I have rediscovered some favorite TV programs and seen some I do not recall ever having seen.

Of course, these shows and their casts have prompted me to offer up another trivia quiz to challenge readers of our hometown newspaper. I hope they will give themselves an A-plus if they can complete the entertainment exam without using Google.

And most of all, I hope they have a bit of fun:
