Phyllis Lynn Vining, 65, of Hot Springs, passed away Dec. 24, 2020. She was born Oct. 25, 1955, in Wynne, Ark. to Benonia and Martha (Jordan) Alexander.

Phyllis was the kindest, most loving person we've ever known. She mothered everyone, so much that friends would often call her mom. She took this as a compliment and never shied away from being there for others who needed support in one way or another. She was the most incredible role model who taught us to always be ourselves and challenged us to seek knowledge, both biblical and real world. We will miss her smile, her laugh, her advice, and her bubbly personality. I know all of us will miss her famous lemon pies, banana pudding, chocolate gravy, and sausage gravy. She loved all of you and her memory will live on in all of us.

Phyllis loved her kids and grandkids with a fiery passion. This passion drove her to consistently meet and exceed their needs. She would read for hours upon hours and was never afraid to get down on the floor and play with all of her kids and grandkids. She absolutely loved being a mother, grandmother, and wife.

Phyllis met the love of her life and hit the ground dancing and deeply loving life. They embarked on a wonderful adventure together, raising a family, traveling and cruising to gorgeous places. Together with Will, Phyllis worked hard and most importantly played hard. She was the absolute peacekeeper in our family. She was always thoughtful and put others' happiness before hers. She had a giving heart and loved bringing joy to those less fortunate.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; siblings James, Barbara, Rosie, Ricky, and Peggy; nephews Brad and Bobby Jr.

Loving survivors include her husband of 43 years, Will Vining; sons, Robbie Vining (Jennifer) and Steven Vining (Kim); daughters, Inger Young (Jim), Holley May (Louis) and Stephanie Glomski (Michael); brother, Bobby Alexander; sister, Patsy Strode; grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, Mallory, Payton, Maddie, Mason, Marabelle, Manning, Tatum, Liam, Hudson, Hannah, and Lydia Lou; and great-grandchild Brenley.

A visitation will be held from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at Hot Springs Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mike Smith officiating.
