Representatives of 13 area churches were on hand Thursday for a groundbreaking ceremony at 115 Watt St. for the Habitat for Humanity Apostle Build.

The Apostle Build is an annual event where local churches volunteer their time and financial support to help build a house.

Participating churches include Christ of the Hills, Community of Joy, St. Mary of the Springs, St. John's Catholic, First Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mountainside, New Life Church, Presbyterian Kirk of the Pines, Village Bible Church, Village United Methodist Church and Trinity Episcopal Church.
