Franklin to address today's NAACP virtual meeting

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Branch No. 6013 President Linda Franklin will address the NAACP's virtual meeting at 2 p.m. today. The meeting will take place on Zoom, an online video conferencing service.

Franklin will speak on the "importance of voting, staying safe amidst the virus and NAACP's policies on protest and political actions."

Franklin is a lifelong resident of Hot Springs. She attended the historic Langston junior/senior high school, and is a 1974 graduate of the Hot Springs School District. Franklin earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Education, with a major in Mathematics, from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia.

Franklin is a retired educator, having taught Mathematics for 25 years at National Park College. She is married to Dewayne Franklin Sr. and is a mother of four, the release said.
