Oaklawn Rotary Club recently awarded a sixth $1,000 college scholarship to Lake Hamilton High School graduate Jaxon Hoefl, Ed Sanders, scholarship selection committee chair and past president, said in a news release.
Along with five other 2019-20 Oaklawn Rotary scholarship recipients, Hoefl was chosen from a field of 55 applicants for his academic and extracurricular accomplishments.
Club members Karen Kitchens, Gordon Watts, Aundrea Crary, Wade Derden and Pete Blakeslee also served on the scholarship selection committee. The scholarships are funded by members working the Turf Catering concession stands at Bank OZK arena, weekly card drawings; and member donations.
