Death of woman found Saturday ruled a homicide

The death of a woman found Saturday, July 11, by Hot Springs police conducting a welfare check has been ruled a homicide, police said in a news release Friday.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a welfare check at an apartment in the 300 block of Laser Street and found a deceased woman inside later identified Diana Gabriela Alamilla, 50, whose body was sent to the state crime lab.

The release notes the cause of death was later ruled a homicide.

“Detectives with the Hot Springs Police Department are currently investigating this case and need your help,” the release said. “If you have any information please contact Detective Jerry Freeman at 501-321-6789.”
