Wolves rout Badgers in opener

ARKADELPHIA -- Lake Hamilton opened its inaugural season under head coach Cito Dickson in spectacular fashion as the Wolves rolled to a 7-1 win over Arkadelphia Friday night.

Sophomore Larry Morales picked up a hat trick after scoring the team's third goal in the first half followed by two more in the second. Junior Dereck Strong added a brace with the first two goals in the game.

Junior Eli Shields and freshman Matthew Cernat also scored a goal each in the win. The Lady Wolves fell, 3-0.

Lake Hamilton hosts Dardanelle Thursday.

Lady Knights advance to tourney finals

MONTICELLO -- Even without sophomore guard Monika Flores, Centerpoint still made its mark on the 3A-4 Regional tournament.

The Lady Knights (23-5) lost Flores to a torn ACL in Wednesday's first-round game, but they still managed to defeat Fouke for the third time this season in Friday's semifinal.

Centerpoint jumped out to an early 14-8 lead in the first quarter before Fouke recovered to pull within 20-19 at the break. The Lady Knights stretched their lead back out to 29-25 going into the final frame.

Sophomore Marlee Bright led Centerpoint with 18 points, junior Emily Balliette added 17, and senior Kaydra Fox, junior Sade Killip, senior Kason Wolf and sophomore rounded out the scoring with 5, 3, 2 and 1 point, respectively.
