PEARCY -- Donald F. Hobby, age 83, of Pearcy, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020.
He was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Pearcy, the son of the late Charlie Hobby and Orene Henson Hobby. On Dec. 20, 1957, he was married to Shirley Hall.
He was Baptist in his faith, was a self-employed antique dealer for many years, and could always be seen taking great pride in keeping his yard mowed. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, who will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley Hobby, of Pearcy; two sons, Douglas Wade (Nalene) Hobby, of Pearcy, and Gregory Lance (Diana) Hobby, of Bartlett, Tenn.; one daughter, Delana Dawn (Mitch) Spivey, of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren, Cody (Aubrie) Hobby, Dillon Hobby, Calvin Donald (Morgan) Hobby, Colton Hobby, Corbin (Alyssa) Hobby, Austin Hobby, Ashley (Ricky) Reynolds, Lacy (Drew) Short and Logan (Heather) Dockery; six great-grandchildren, Crews Hobby, Isabella Reynolds, Jamison Reynolds, Emma Dawn Short, Eden Short and Camila Dockery; one sister, Willodene Donathan, of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces; nephews; extended family members and wonderful friends.
A private family graveside service will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
