The Col. John Washington Chapter, Colonial Dames 17th Century recently garnered 10 awards for its work during 2019, with members of the chapter, as well as the chapter, receiving awards at the state conference held in Searcy.
For promotion of Heraldry & Coats of Arms, members Judy Robbin, Pat McLemore, Linda White and Marsha Young were recognized. For publicity, the chapter was recognized for over 1,800 newsprint inches and publicity Chair Sheila Beatty-Krout was also awarded. Patricia McLemore received the state president's award for her support, a news release said.
"The chapter is also committed to our veterans and was recognized," along with VA volunteers Peggy Vandenberg and Sally Johnson, the release said.
CJW was the second chapter to be chartered in Arkansas and has met in either Hot Springs or Hot Springs Village for over 59 years.
