The Photo Finishers is helping its customers make the most of a tough situation.

"There is nothing 'good' about the situation we find ourselves in with the COVID-19 virus, but as with all adversity, we must search out the opportunity," the business said in a news release.

"On the bright side, if we have to be isolated, at least we have the blessing of being quarantined at home in our own sanctuary with our own belongings and with our loved ones. One benefit we might consider is the opportunity to do the things that we never have time to do, and keep putting off. For many people that includes going through and organizing our old photos, slides and videos."

"I have run into so many people just around town over the years, who tell me 'I have a bunch of tapes I need to bring in and let you transfer to DVD,' or 'My dad has a bunch of slides that I need to get digitized or printed,' or 'I need to get copies of an old photo of my great-great grandmother so that everyone in the family has a copy.' I know they all mean it, and they all have it done. Some are just busy with other things and haven't made it in yet and I get it, I am as guilty as everyone else. Life is just ... busy," said Waco Hill, owner of The Photo Finishers.

"At least for a (hopefully) short time most of us are being forced to slow down, to stay home. It's the safest most prudent course, and we wouldn't jeapordize anyone's safety. Many people are watching a lot of TV. This is an excellent time to pull out those old videotapes and get them transferred to DVD so you can watch them, and enjoy the memories you worked so hard to capture," the release said.

The Photo Finishers is still doing that work, but customers will have limited access to the location.

"For everyone's health and safety we are limiting walk-in hours, and after every visitor, we are bleaching the countertops and door handles," says Hill. "And because it's best for most not to get out at all, I am offering to pick up and deliver, or ship projects. We've always done these sorts of things for our clients that don't have a way to get out, it's really nothing new, it's just more folks just need it now, and we are happy to help."

The Photo Finishers has been located at 1819 Albert Pike Suite F in Hot Springs since 1996 and offers a huge list of photographic, audio and video services to both consumers and professionals.
