Treshaun Lamarkus Muldrew, 20, who lists a Plateau Street address, and James Christopher Europe, 24, who lists a DeQueen address, were both taken into custody around 4 p.m. and each charged with a felony count of residential burglary, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, and misdemeanor counts of second-degree criminal mischief and theft of property under $1,000, each punishable by up to one year in jail.

Muldrew and Europe both appeared via video in Garland County District Court Friday morning and pleaded not guilty to the charges. A felony review hearing for both is set for June 15. Judge Ralph Ohm set bond for Muldrew, who was on probation, at $7,000 and set Europe's bond at $5,000. Both men remained in custody Friday afternoon.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to the 400 block of Alcorn Street regarding a burglary in progress at a residence there.

Upon arrival, witnesses gave officers a description of two black males seen fleeing the scene. The homeowner told police he had discovered multiple wallets, a glass jar with $20 in change, various collectible coins and currency, including several $2 bills, a pair of Jordan shoes, a small safe and some jewelry were missing.

It was determined the suspects had gained entry into the residence by breaking the glass out of a door, causing an estimated $300 in damages.

Officers located two pairs of shoes, the safe and jar of coins near a fence north of the residence where witnesses had seen the suspects run. Cpl. Brandon Jones and his K-9 partner, Nitro, did a search and located a pair of black pants and a black hoodie which contained three of the victim's wallets, several collectible coins and money.

Officers located Muldrew and Europe, who matched the description of the suspects, in the area and the witness to the burglary was driven by the scene by Sgt. Kirk Zaner. She reportedly identified the two men as the ones she had seen breaking into the residence and then running away.

The two were questioned at the police department and Europe was reportedly cooperative and admitted to Detective Joey Vanderburg he had entered the residence and took some shoes, but then he dropped them while jumping over a fence as he fled the scene.
