Artists' Workshop Gallery, 610-A Central Avenue, has named Linda Shearer and Dianne Morgan as December's Featured Artists.
Shearer, a Hot Springs Village resident, is an accomplished artist in Chinese brush painting, as well as many other art genres, a news release said.
Shearer paints in both Hsieh-1, or spontaneous style, and the Chinese traditional style. She said in a news release that she feels that Chinese brush painting lends itself to the "exploration and discovery of the unique beauty of nature, conveyed in a simple and elegant manner to the observer." She said she particularly enjoys the subject of trees and flowers, considering these subjects her "old friends."
In December, Shearer will be exhibiting traditional and contemporary Chinese brush landscapes, vibrant florals, and birds with character and humor. She will also be displaying several acrylic paintings on canvas and miniature paintings on easels.
Linda is a member of Brush Strokes Art Club and the Village Art Club in the Village, and Whittington Gallery in Hot Springs. She performs demonstrations of her art process in various venues.

A native of Arkansas, Morgan said in the release that she is inspired by the "natural glory that God has placed around us." She is also a resident of Hot Springs Village.
Morgan was "exposed to the creative process at an early age. She works in acrylics, oils, watercolors and polymer clay. The soft, luminous edges created by the blending and movement of color can be seen throughout her work. A former art business owner, Dianne has taught classes in both oils and acrylics. She has studied art and attended workshops from nationally and internationally known instructors," the release said.
Morgan has won numerous awards for her work. She is a member of the Brush Strokes Fine Art Club in Hot Springs Village and Mid-Southern Watercolorists. Her paintings hang in collections in Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana and Missouri.

Artists' Workshop Gallery's limited hours due to COVID-19 are Thursday through Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
