Two people were shot early Saturday morning at a residence on Mountain Pine Road and two teenage suspects were arrested in connection with the shooting about six hours later, Garland County sheriff's Deputy Courtney Kizer said Sunday.

Zachary Edward Rowland, 19, who lists an address of 609 Mountain Pine Road, where the shooting occurred, and Taylor Samantha Morris, 19, who lists a Timberlake Road address in Royal, were both taken into custody around noon Saturday and each charged with a felony count of committing a terroristic act.

They were both booked into the Garland County Detention Center shortly before 3 p.m. where they remain in custody in lieu of $250,000 bonds.

At around 5:35 a.m. Saturday, sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting at the 609 Mountain Pine Road residence and located two victims, whose names and conditions were not being released Sunday, Kizer, the department's public information officer, said.

Deputies were told Rowland and Morris "had been there and were involved in the shooting," she said, but they were not there at that time.

As investigators were still processing the scene, they received a call Rowland and Morris had been "sighted in the area of 387 Pearcy Road," she said. An investigator and deputy went to that area and located both suspects and took them into custody.

Both of them were interviewed and later charged with the terroristic act count, Kizer said, noting additional charges are pending in the case.

"We're not sure at this time if there was a third suspect, we're still trying to get more information," she said.

She said both suspects will likely be interviewed again as additional charges are filed. She anticipated additional information will be released today in the case as the investigation progresses.
