Magic Springs to reopen for new Halloweekends

Magic Springs Theme and Water Park will debut its new Halloweekends on Oct. 10, which it says will offer "fall family fun" on weekends through Nov. 1.

Halloweekends will feature different fall events that are "fun for the whole family," a news release said, from noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Magic Springs previously offered Magic Screams, billing itself as the "Scare Capital of Arkansas," during weekends in October, staying open until 11 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 p.m. on Sundays. Park officials were unavailable for comment on Thursday.

Halloweekends, the release said, will feature appearances by "Legend," the baby dragon, Trick or Treat Trail, Pumpkin Patch and the Fright Flix Movie Trail, where guests can win prizes for guessing the titles of spooky movie scenes.

Other activities can be found throughout the park, including fun inflatables, themed crafts at the Craft Row, roaming characters, a line-up of haunted games, photo opportunities, and contests, the release said.

"We are back with more fall activities and more family fun than our park has ever seen during this time of year," Jack Bateman, general manager, said in the release.

"Halloweekends at Magic Springs is the perfect place for you and your family to come out on the weekends and enjoy fall-themed fun in a safe and festive environment," he said.

New activities include "Cata-Punkin @ The Pond," a "giant catapult" that will be used to throw pumpkins at targets in a pond, a hay maze, "The Undead Cemetery" and "Bumpin' Carz 2.0."

There will also be Halloween-themed snacks for sale at the park. These include a pumpkin funnel cake, Zombie Treats and a beverage called Witches Brew.

Admission to Halloweekends will be $29.99 plus tax for adults, and $21.99 plus tax for juniors and seniors at the gate. Discounted admission is available online for $24.99 plus tax for adults and $19.99 plus tax for juniors and seniors.

Additionally, a 2021 Season Pass also includes admission to Halloweekends at Magic Springs, the news release said.

The park asks that "those who have been sick, experiencing COVID-like symptoms or who have been around somebody who is sick, to please stay home and follow proper quarantine guidelines put in place by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state and local officials."
