Windell C. Allen

Windell Calvin Allen, age 80, died at his home on Sept. 18, 2020. Windell was born on the banks of the Caddo River in Bismarck, Ark., Aug. 27, 1940, to the late Calvin Lester Allen Jr. and Mary Maxine Hardage Chambers. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Patricia, the mother of his children; and two brothers, Caroll Dean Allen and James Winford Allen.

He was retired from Colonial Baking Company and was a bus driver for Humboldt City Schools. His heart never left Arkansas. He loved Christ, his family and the Arkansas Razorbacks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Cagle Allen; sister, LaRue Sligh (Darrell); children, Joey Allen (Diana), Vicki Allen, Pam Howell (Lynn), Tim Allen (Jeannie), Melissa Ferrell, Sheila Rechis (Louie) and Allen Fuller; grandchildren, Justin Allen, Sarah Toler (Jonathan), Matthew Lankford, Hunter Howell (Lesley), Haley Edwards (Corey), Sydney Allen (Nathan Brockman), Noah Allen, Sarah Staggs, Josh Staggs, Heather Staggs, Cierra Ferrell, Amber Alexander (Adam), Tiffany Rechis and Lou Rechis; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Brockman, Nolan Howell, Richlee Howell, Taylen Alexander, James Alexander, Malayna Ferrell and Loucas Rechis; a host of nephews; nieces; and many friends.

Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home in Medina, Tenn., and will be held from 3-5 p.m. today, Sept. 20, at Oakfield Baptist Church in Oakfield, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. today, Sept. 20, at the church with Brother Mickey Jackson officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Bismarck, Ark., with Brother Chris Morrison officiating. Local assistance provided by J. A. Funk Funeral Home of Malvern.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Hunter Howell, Noah Allen, Justin Allen, Matthew Lankford, Nathan Brockman, Jonathan Toler, Corey Edwards and Josh Staggs.

Honarary Pallbearers will be Nolan Howell, Sawyer Brockman, Joshua Allen, Allen Fuller, Carter Milligan and Colin Milligan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Oakfield Baptist Church, 3527 Old Medina Road, Oakfield, TN 38362 or the American Cancer Society.
