The Arts & the Park festival's "Art Moves" outdoor exhibit, which features 10 pieces of original art throughout the Hot Springs Creek Greenway Trail, opened Friday.

The pieces in "Art Moves" depict physical, natural, and social movement. The artwork has been reproduced on 30-by-40-inch metal sheets that have been installed along the trail, which runs alongside Hot Springs Creek.

Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance Executive Director Mary Zunick described some of the featured pieces for The Sentinel-Record. Visit hotsr.com for her walk-through of the exhibit.

"Artists were asked to submit artwork that depicted movement, whether physical movement, movement in nature, or social movement, and so you'll see examples of each of those categories of movement," she said.

Zunick said each piece will have a sign with the name of the artist, the piece, and a QR code. This will link to the cultural alliance website for more information on each of the pieces when scanned.

According to Zunick, this temporary exhibit will stay up until at least the end of the year.

The artists selected for the Art Moves exhibit were Katherine Strause, "Big Bang and Jump Rope," Gary Simmons, "I Shoulda Known," Kenneth Haley, "Out in Front," A. Margarita Peraza-Rugeley, "Studio: Woman with Spaces," Hugh Dunnahoe, "Walking the Line," Conie Hall, "Coy Koi," Dolores Justus, "Afternoon Light," Morgan Herndon, "Bike Spray," and Jeri Hillis "A Boy Skipping."
