John Plyler, 88, of Hot Springs, Ark., joined his late wife and soul mate, Grace Plyler, on April 4, 2021. "Burr," as he was affectionately known by his family, was born June 2, 1932, in Mount Ida, Ark., to the late John and Alice (Irons) Plyler. He was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church.
Burr was a natural athlete and a proud member of the Hot Springs High School football team. He also enjoyed coaching little league football. In later years, he was a force to be reckoned with on the tennis court, winning many games through sheer endurance.
Burr is survived by his sons, T.J. (Laura) Plyler, Mickey (Donna) Plyler and Dennis J. Plyler; grandchildren, Andrew (Lauren) Plyler, Teresa Plyler, Jason Plyler, Miranda (Eric) Redman, Mikia (Gaylon) Kilcrease, Micah (Jeremy) Diggs; great-grandchildren, Chase Plyler, Brylea Mercer, Judah Diggs, Evie Kate Diggs, Shelby Kilcrease and Plyler Oseguera; niece, Cindy McJunkins Sims (Randall); and a great-niece, Skylar Trammel.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with a celebration of Burr's life immediately following at 2 p.m.
