Hot Springs police are investigating the shooting late Tuesday of an 18-year-old white male inside a vehicle at a local gas station who was transported to a local hospital for treatment, Cpl. Patrick Langley, the department's public information officer, told The Sentinel-Record Wednesday.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the Phillips 66 station, 3201 Central Ave., regarding a shooting that had reportedly occurred there. The victim was located in a vehicle near the intersection of Golf Links Road and Pine Vista Street, about 1.3 miles from the gas station, which is located at the intersection of Central and Golf Links.

The victim "was found to have wounds consistent with a shooting," Langley said, and was transported by LifeNet to a local hospital. "We have no information on his condition at this time," he said.

"(The Criminal Investigation Division) responded and detectives continue to investigate," he said.

No arrests had been made in the case as of Wednesday afternoon.
