Hot Springs native Yalanda Alderson will address today's virtual meeting of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Unit 6013, at 2 p.m. on Zoom.
Anderson graduated from Hot Springs High in 1998 and attended Henderson State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree. Anderson has a major in human service and a minor in sociology. She is a "proud member" of Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc., a news release said, and is the mother of one son, Caleb Alderson.
Anderson has been employed with the state of Arkansas for 13 years and is currently an Area 3 resource supervisor with Division of Children and Family Services.
"Yalanda has always had a passion for serving God and her community," the release said.
