Outstanding Athlete of the Week: None. "We are young and are still looking for our first win," CMS head coach Donnie Pogue said.

Key opponent this week: "Not one. We are trying to play one day at a time and be competitive each and every day."

Pogue's plans for this week: "We will continue to work on fundamentals trying to grow each day and to continue to have a great work ethic and a positive attitude."

Fountain Lake (2-7, 2-5 4A-7)

Outstanding Athlete of the Week: AnnaClaire Berry. "She was 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring three runs to help us win against Hope last Tuesday," Fountain Lake head coach Brooklynn Jimeson said.

Key opponent this week: Arkadelphia.

Jimeson's plans for this week: "We will look to focus on our pitching and defense in hopes to help keep the Badgers off the bases this week."

Hot Springs (5-6, 1-6 5A South)

Last week's games: 22-2 loss vs Lakeside on Tuesday, 3-1 win at Texarkana on Thursday

This week's games: Today at Texarkana at 5 p.m., Thursday at CMS at 4:30 p.m., Friday vs El Dorado at 4:30 p.m.

Outstanding Athlete of the Week: None.

Key opponent this week: "All of them are conference except Cutter, so they really all are," said Hot Springs head coach Deana Franklin.

Franklin's plans for this week: "We have four games next week. Pine Bluff from rain out Friday. They beat us by 1, so we're looking to win that one. Arkansas High against Tuesday -- looking for another win. Cutter Thrusday -- haven't played them yet. El Dorado Friday -- played with them several innings at their place. Looking to do better at home."

Lake Hamilton (4-7, 3-3 5A South)

Last week's games: 10-4 loss at Sheridan on Thursday

This week's games: Today vs Lakeside at 4:30 p.m., Thursday at Malvern at 5 p.m., Friday at Pine Bluff at 4:30 p.m.

Outstanding Athlete of the Week: Emma Hayes. "Emma had a great week both offensively and defensively," said Lake Hamilton head coach Amy Teague.

Key opponent this week: Lakeside.

Teague's plans for this week: "Offensive production."

Lakeside (7-3, 4-2 5A South)

Last week's games: 22-2 win at Hot Springs on Tuesday, 16-6 win vs El Dorado on Friday

This week's games: Today at Lake Hamilton at 4:30 p.m., Friday vs White Hall at 5 p.m.

Outstanding Athlete of the Week: Erika Bittinger. "She's a senior, starting pitcher and lead-off batter. Last week her batting average was .833 with four RBI's. She was 2-0 as starting pitcher. She is our glue that holds us together," said Lakeside head coach Josh Bradley

Key opponent this week: "Hard to answer. We have two big games against cross town rival Lake Hamilton who we beat earlier this year, 5-3, and we play White Hall who beat us 3-2. Both have big state tournament implications for us. We could be the No. 2 seed at the end of the week or the No. 4 seed."

Bradley's plans for the week: "Our focus for the upcoming week is going to be to continue to have an attack mentality at the plate and limit our mistakes in the field."
