HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Brush Strokes Art Club will sponsor two fall workshops by recognized area artists, a news release said.
"Elementary, My Dear Artists -- A Fundamentals Overview" will be taught by Hugh Dunnahoe, a Hot Springs professional illustrator, graphic designer and fine art painter, with a career spanning over 40 years.
Dunnahoe has taught Graphic Design and Illustration at Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University, and has also taught numerous workshops and weekly classes in his studio.
The focus of the workshop will be on the elements of design, creating depth on a flat surface, and practical color, with demonstrations and participation exercises. All skill levels will benefit.
The workshop will be held Oct. 5-6, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The second workshop, "Capturing the Seasons in Watercolor -- Winter, Summer, and Fall" will be taught by Gary Weeter, who is both an architect and an artist.
"Gary has been engaged in watercolor painting since the mid-1970s and has taught many workshops for Brush Strokes," the release said.
For the past 10 years, he has taught watercolor classes for passengers on Crystal Cruise lines.
In this workshop, participants will learn various techniques and appropriate color pigments to depict three or four seasons of the year. It is designed for intermediate and advanced beginner watercolorists.
The workshop will be held Oct. 26-28, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The location for both workshops will be the Unitarian Universalist Village Church, 403 Barcelona Road, in Hot Springs Village.
