A Pearcy woman who was injured in a single-vehicle ATV wreck Saturday, Aug. 14, died from her injuries Thursday afternoon at a local hospital, according to an Arkansas Department of Public Safety fatal crash summary released Friday.
Carla Jean Wood, 59, who was operating a 2019 Honda TRX240 ATV, was reportedly southbound in the 400 block of Whitfield Road shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 14 when she lost control while negotiating "a slight curve" to the left and was thrown from the vehicle.
Wood was transported to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs and at around 12:18 p.m. Thursday she was pronounced dead at the hospital, the report said. Conditions were reportedly clear and dry at the time of the wreck.
Whitfield Road runs off the 4300 block of Sunshine Road in Pearcy.
