Fountain Lake, Jessieville split matches at Diamante

Fountain Lake split with Jessieville on the links at Diamante Country Club Thursday with the Cobras winning the boys match and the Lady Lions winning the girls match.

The Cobras shot a 126 for the win while the Lions turned in a team score of 166. Freshman Kolt Carden earned medalist honors with a personal best on the course with a round of 38. Carson McCoy (41), Coil Burks (47), Brodie McMillan (49) and Brayden Buss (49) rounded out the scoring for Fountain Lake.

Spencer Morrow and Leonard Huff led the Lions with rounds of 54 with Luke Baker (58) and Grant Honeycutt (61) rounding out the scoring.

Jessieville turned in a team card of 179 for the win. Haley Holland led the Lady Lions with a 51 with Kamma Reed (63) and Ava Zetts (65) contributing.

Freshman Jaylen Cameron turned in a personal best of 49 to earn medalist honors for the Lady Cobras with Sophie Skinner adding a 53.

The Cobras also defeated Arkadelphia, 127-145, Tuesday. Arkadelphia's Gray Manning earned medalist honors with a low round of 41. Burks led the Cobras with a 41, McCoy shot a 42, and Carden had a 44.

The Lady Cobras won with a low team score of 188. Cameron shot a 60 to lead the team with Skinner turning in a 61, and Katie Kandlbinder a 67. Arkadelphia's Jada Jones earned medalist honors with a 56.

LAKESIDE TENNIS DOWNS LAKE HAMILTON

Lakeside's tennis team lost just one match as the Rams and Lady Rams defeated Lake Hamilton Thursday at Lakeside.

Junior Ben Hollis defeated Jake Spruill in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, while classmate Graham Dolan also swept Max Grisham in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Brodie McAllister defeated James Ballard, 8-0.

In boys doubles action, junior William Ivy and Griffin Gulley fell to Lake Hamilton's Ty Robinson and Kai Condley, 6-2, 6-3. The Rams' pairing of junior Greyson Cornelison and Walker Wood defeated the Wolves' Austin Praetzel and Peter Bobnar.

Lakeside junior Julia Malone defeated Sheyla Praetzel, 6-2, 6-1, sophomore Sabrina Long downed Lake Hamilton's Julia Ballesteros, 7-5, 6-2, and senior Sarah Nutt defeated Ellison Felgate, 8-4. Lakeside's Mia Francioni bested Lake Hamilton's Arabella Norton, 8-0, and junior Elli Uldrich defeated Kindsey Faulkner, 9-7 (11).

In girls doubles, Lakeside junior Elizabeth Cowen and senior Addyson Dowdy defeated the pairing of Hayleigh Wyrick and Natalie Tedder, 6-3, 6-3, and freshman Lauren Latham and sophomore Caley Anderson beat Lake Hamilton's Haven Lockwood and Rose Allgier in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Isabelle McDonough and junior Drew Dowdy defeated Lake Hamilton's Chloe Carson and Makenzee Clark, 8-2, sophomores Molly Reeves and Lydia Bearrs downed the Lady Wolves' Kindsey Faulkner and Audrey Wacaster, 8-2, and sophomores Shelby Henley and Madelyn Brown defeated Lake Hamilton's Evy Hafer and Emma Qualls, 8-0.

Lakeside also defeated El Dorado Tuesday without losing a single match in either singles or doubles.

TEXARKANA TENNIS TOPS HOT SPRINGS

Hot Springs took two singles wins while dropping three against Texarkana Thursday at Kimery Park.

Hot Springs' Connor Bailey defeated Bryce Jones, 8-1, in boys singles, and Hot Springs' Nina Gunnell defeated Hannah Smith, 8-2.

Texarkana's Wood Law defeated Asa Linn, 8-5, and Seth Coker downed the Trojans' Owen Weng, 8-4. The Lady Razorbacks' Mary Dowd downed the Lady Trojans' Hannah Newcomb, 8-4.

FL, HS SPLIT AT KIMERY

Hot Springs' and Fountain Lake's boys split with a win apiece while the Lady Cobras swept the Lady Trojans Tuesday at Kimery Park.

Fountain Lake's Andrew Bledsoe took the win over Linn after dropping the first set 6-2. Bledsoe took a 6-1 win in the second set before winning the tiebreak 11-9. Bailey defeated Bo Barker, 6-0, 3-0 ret.

Lainee Mungle took a 6-2, 6-1, win over Newcomb, and Paige Davis defeated Gunnell, 6-0, 6-2.

Fountain Lake traveled to Nashville on Aug. 20 with Mungle, Davis and Angela Coriaty all winning in girls singles. The girls doubles pairings dropped all three of their matches.

Bledsoe took a win in boys singles, but Baker lost his match. Both boys doubles pairings lost.

BISMARCK SWEEPS AT DESOTO

Bismarck's boys and girls teams both took wins Tuesday at DeSoto Golf Course.

The Lions turned in a 132 for the win with Jessieville scoring a 182, and Mena had no team score. Blake Smith earned medalist honors with a low round of 42, and Riley Tuttle was runner-up medalist with a 44. Wyatt Clement (46) and Nick Tucker (58) rounded out the team's scoring.

The Lady Lions turned in a 120 with neither Jessieville nor Mena turning in a team score. Anna Cain led the Lady Lions with a 36, with Hannah Collie (41), Erin Fendley (43), Ellie Norris (52) and Jenna Payne (59) rounding out the scoring.

Bismarck also won both the boys and girls competitions Monday at DeGray Lake Resort State Park Golf Course.

The Lions shot a 136 for the win with Spring Hill finishing second with a 164. Smith shot a 40 for medalist honors with Tuttle earning runner-up medalist honors with a 43. Gavin Urban (49), Tucker (52) and Clement (52) completed the scoring for Bismarck.

In the girls competition, the Lady Lions shot a 133 with Poyen turning in a 187. Cain was medalist with a low round of 40 with Hannah Collie's 44 earning runner-up medalist honors. Fendley (49), Payne (51), Norris (55) and Samantha Collie (55) rounded out the scoring.
