Radiation oncologist joins CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Cancer Center

CHI St. Vincent announces that radiation oncologist Dr. David Pruitt has joined the team of board-certified cancer specialists, nurse practitioners and nurses at the CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Cancer Center.

Pruitt brings more than 25 years of professional radiation oncology experience, a news release said.

Pruitt most recently served as medical director of Radiation Oncology and co-research director at St. Joseph's Mercy Cancer Center in Hot Springs. He previously served as medical director of Radiation Oncology and Radiation Safety Officer at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Pittsburg, Kan.

After attending medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Pruitt completed his residency at the University of Wyoming and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where he served as chief resident in the Department of Radiation Oncology.

In addition to providing radiation therapy services, the CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Cancer Center houses a cancer registry, consultation area, physician offices, chemotherapy, community and education rooms for classes and support groups and a dedicated American Cancer Society resource area.
