A 'dab of treason'
Dear editor:
Treason: the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.
It's a rather straightforward definition. One the Republican Party is doing now, by not accepting the will of the people on who they voted into office.
Really, Congress reminds me of kindergarten when the teacher leaves the room for five minutes.
But hey, this is only my opinion. I mean, with all the problems we have right now, what's a dab of treason, really?

Water for birds in winter
Dear editor:
Water is critical for birds and other wildlife every day of the year. This becomes unavailable when temperatures get below freezing and the water in birdbaths is frozen.
Although birds are what come to mind, deer, chipmunks, raccoons and squirrels also need water. If snow is available, you will see birds eating snow or ice if water is not available. This has a survival down side. Snow and reduces their internal body temperature using calories to maintain body heat that they need for survival. In winter insects are not available and seeds are scarce.
Keep birdbath water from freezing using a birdbath or stock bucket heater. There are different sizes and watts. A sensor inside turns the unit on when the water temperature reaches 35 degrees and it keeps the water from freezing. They are inactive in warmer temperatures. This is the time to consider helping all wildlife that need water in winter. Our birds and other wildlife need your help.
