The driver of a 2004 GMC Envoy was injured Tuesday morning when his vehicle hit a patch of ice.

The wreck occurred in the 100 block of Sleepy Valley Road Tuesday morning.

The driver of the vehicle was headed south at around 7:30 a.m. when he hit patch of ice and lost control, leaving the road to his right before striking a tree. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
