Letters to the editor

Following the rules

Dear editor:

I recently attended my granddaughter's high school graduation in Florida. There were close to 500 graduates and none of them draped themselves in flags, and you can bet that being in Florida, just about every ethnic group was represented.

They all followed the rules and wore the prescribed cap and gown with no other adornment. If the young man who draped himself in the Mexican flag is not happy in this country or with his education here, maybe he should go back to Mexico and the same applies to Mr. Navarrette who is so egregiously offended despite his statement to the contrary. There are other ways to thank your parents for bringing you to this country than flaunting rules. I am sure there were other graduates of Mexican heritage who followed the rules.

Trouble ahead

Dear editor:

Hunter Biden, the president's son, wrote a book in which he describes how he was a crack-smoking, cocaine-snorting, drug addict yet he was paid millions as a board member and adviser to countries and companies only because he was the son of the vice president of the USA. An email from Hunter referred to "the big guy and his share" which was obviously VP Biden and his 10% cut: this is now our president! This is beyond absurd! We're talking about the president of the USA! How can he get away with these shameful acts and not be arrested by the Sgt at Arms? As I understand, the senate must initiate this so why don't they? If the roles were reversed they would have thrown President Trump under the jail.

Joe Biden and both houses of Congress are more concerned with winning elections than serving America.

On the lighter side, Biden says that global warming is a bigger threat than China and Russia! He's joking, right? In the first place, America is doing all we can to combat global warming, (which is overrated). China is by far the leader of the global warming problem. Biden's recent remark indicates that he is grossly underestimating the military threat that China and Russia pose. President Biden cannot be taken seriously. He is an extreme threat to our national security.

To make matters worse, V.P. Harris is incompetent -- she exceeds all negative expectations as she giggles and laughs her way through our problems. This is a nightmare of the worst kind. What can the Republicans do about any of the problems that we face? If the president were to be impeached for incompetence we may have more negative exposure with V.P. Harris becoming president than allowing President Biden to continue the masquerade as the leader of the free world. America is the laughing stock of the world.

Trouble ahead this summer? Are we really going to tolerate another period of destruction such as we've seen in recent times? V.P. Harris actually advocated the gang destruction in the Democrat-controlled cities in America; this is like the fox guarding the henhouse. Obviously, America's voter is not concerned or these two wouldn't be in office, that should scare anybody! Does anyone understand how we look to the rest of the world?

At one time I was concerned about inflation and our financial well-being, now I'm concerned with our survival.
