Hot Springs is represented among Miss Arkansas winners

LITTLE ROCK -- Miss Rice Capital Kelsie Everett won the Preliminary Artistic Expression in Talent Award and Miss Greater Hot Springs Mady Rottinghaus and Miss Mid-South Cait Light tied for the Evening Gown Preliminary Award on Tuesday, the opening night of the 83rd Annual Miss Arkansas Competition at Robinson Center.

The Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen Pageant also recognizes Alpha Award winners each night. Tuesday's Alpha Awards in Teen included a tie for the Fitness Award between Central Arkansas Outstanding Teen Haley Shourd and Greater Hot Springs Outstanding Teen Addi Rae Dowdy, according to a news release from the pageant.

Evening Gown was won by Conway's Outstanding Teen Kelsey Flynn and talent was a tie between City Light's Outstanding Teen Lindsay Hague and Heartland's Outstanding Teen Haven Williams.

"For winning an Alpha Award these young ladies will each receive a $100 scholarship given by the Miss Arkansas Executive Directors Association," the release said.

During the Miss Arkansas competition, Miss Metro Ebony Mitchell and Miss University of Arkansas Whitney Williams tied for the Preliminary On-Stage Interview Award

For winning Talent, Everett received a $2,000 scholarship provided by former Miss Arkansas Hall of Fame recipients.

Rottinghaus and Light will both receive a $500 scholarship for winning Evening Gown provided by Emerge and Renee Stone.

Mitchell and Williams will both receive a $1,000 scholarship for winning On-Stage Interview provided by the Miss Arkansas Scholarship Foundation.

For her talent, Everett performed a vocal to "How Great Thou Art."
