The Art Original-ly Gallery, 3911 Central Ave., Suite D, continues its First Thursdays Trunk Shows this Thursday. The monthly event series allows interested students or purveyors of the arts to speak one-on-one with local artists.

Each first Thursday of the month, one of the gallery's local talents will dedicate their day, in 30-minute time slots, to answering questions, sharing insights, and just discussing passion and techniques on various art topics, a news release said.

The next Trunk Shows will feature local husband-and-wife duo Rick and Kelly VanHook. "The VanHooks share a passion for color and bold texture. Together they share their experiences and memories with others through their paintings," it said.

Rick VanHook, who will be featured this Thursday, presents bold abstract works that combine shape and texture in unexpected ways. A time slot can be reserved by calling 501-508-9957.

"Join us for these unique events and come see all the wonderful talent Arkansas has to offer, the release said.

The Art Original-ly Gallery offers works of art and photography by Arkansas artists including Buddy Whitlock, Rick VanHook, Kelly VanHook, Tim Donar, Sarah Dore and Julie Reardon.

The Art Original-ly Gallery offers "original art to fit any budget, plus unique gift and home décor items" and is locally owned and operated, the release said. Call 501-508-9957 for more information.
