One man was shot in the shoulder while in his bed late Friday when multiple rounds were fired at his house on Drexel Street, Hot Springs Police Cpl. Patrick Langley told The Sentinel-Record.

Shortly after 9 p.m., police responded to a report of shots fired at 200 Drexel St. and discovered the residence there was struck and a 27-year-old man in bed at the residence was hit. A residential gas meter was also struck, Langley said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and "his injuries do not appear life-threatening at this time," he said.

"No one is in custody at this time," Langley said, but detectives are "actively investigating."

The gas meter was turned off by the Hot Springs Fire Department and Centerpoint Entergy also responded to the scene, inspected the meter and "gave the all clear."

Anyone with any information about the shooting or possible suspects should call police at 321-6789.
