A man who was new to town stopped by Jackson House in need of food. He was searching for work and a new start. Two days later, he returned needing clothes for his new job and gasoline to get there. Two weeks later, we found an envelope poked through the front door mail slot with $40 and a note of thanks. He wanted to pay Jackson House back so that we can help someone else!
A concerned neighbor called that the lady across the street who lived alone, an elderly widow, was looking thin and unwell. We gave her groceries to take to her and the number for Area Agency on Aging whom we work with from time to time. She was in need of care.
A local caregiver with Hospice called for her client in need of food, clothes, and personal care items. They were given in abundance. All stages of life need love and care.
Hope -- meeting basic needs while giving hope. To elderly, working poor, children, families, sick, addicted, veterans, homeless, people. We all need hope and help from time to time. We have openings for volunteers. We need donations to keep providing the services we give. Each dollar, each item, each person, counts. Visit http://www.jacksonhouse.org, call 501-623-4048, or come by 705 Malvern Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901.
