Crystal Ridge Distillery

Crystal Ridge Distillery strives to provide a destination experience where the moonshine tradition is brought out of the woods to the heart of Downtown Hot Springs. Guests step back in time by experiencing the original hand-built craftsmanship and beauty of the 1920s historic location, learning of the history of moonshine in Hot Springs all the way to the old-world technique of distilling and producing alcohol with modern amenities. Crystal Ridge Distillery was established in July 2018. After a few private events for several nonprofit organizations, CRD opened its restaurant on Dec. 5, 2019, the same day Prohibition ended in 1933.

Stubby's BBQ

In 1952, founder Richard "Stubby's BBQ" Stubblefield, Sr., first fired up his BBQ over fragrantly smoldering hickory logs, slow cooking the famous meats: ribs, beef, pork, and chicken. Originally located at 1000 Park Ave. in Hot Springs, Stubby's BBQ sauce fast became a mainstay in this tourist mecca, rivaling barbecue operations large and small in several other states. In 1977, Stubby's BBQ sold the enterprise to a young couple from New York. Through the years, Stubby's BBQ has gained a following of devotees not only from the south, but from across the nation. Stubby's BBQ has also been recognized by many food critics, and boasts write-ups in national publications such as "Food and Wine Magazine," "Restaurant Business," "Restaurant Hospitality," "Restaurants and Institutions," and even books like "Road Food Good Food."

Trent's Floor Solutions

Owned by Trent and Candace Young since 2003, Trent's is a mom-and-pop business that has truly been blessed in years past, but especially in the year 2020. They said they never slowed down and were considered an essential business.

"In our endeavors with our customers, we not only get to talk about store business, but also about the personal things that were going on in their lives since this pandemic started," Candace said. "So, I guess you could say, we were an outlet for many people to be able to get out of their homes and just be able to talk about how they were being affected by this dreaded COVID or anything else that came to mind and we would always take the time to listen."

Total Concrete, Inc.

Total Concrete was started in 2011 in Hot Springs Arkansas and has grown from the back of a pickup truck, to a now over $750,000 a year business. Jose "Luis" Yanez, a Mexican immigrant, came to the US in 1996 to realize his American dream, to have the opportunity to provide a better life for his family and start and run a successful business. Before becoming his own concrete contracting business, Luis learned the ropes from some other concrete and excavation companies that helped launch Total Concrete in 2011. He thanks companies such as Spa Construction, GT Concrete, Garrett Excavating, Hot Springs Excavating, and the City of Hot Springs for the opportunity to grow his knowledge and experience. It is companies like this that have inspired him to be like them and help other contractors learn a trade and start businesses in our community. Total Concrete employs eight full-time people from the local community.
