Radiation oncologist joins Hot Springs Cancer Center

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs recently announced that radiation oncologist Dr. Roscoe Chan has joined the team of board-certified cancer specialists at the CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Cancer Center.

"Dr. Chan brings more than 25 years of professional radiation oncology experience to better serve patients across Southwest Arkansas," a news release said.

"Dr. Chan's extensive experience in radiation oncology and cancer treatment will be an invaluable addition to the exceptional, compassionate cancer care our patients appreciate at the cancer center in Hot Springs," Dr. Douglas Ross, president of CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, said in the release.

"We're incredibly proud to have him join our healing ministry in Southwest Arkansas," Ross said.

Chan most recently served as medical director of Radiation Oncology at CHRISTUS Schumpert/Highland Cancer Treatment Center in Shreveport, La., for over 10 years. He also previously served as an assistant professor at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport and UTMB-Galveston.

After attending medical school at the University of Hong Kong, Chan completed his radiation oncology training at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He obtained his Canadian board certifications in 1996 and has been certified by the American Board of Radiology since 1997.

In addition to providing radiation therapy services, the CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Cancer Center houses a cancer registry, consultation area, physician offices, chemotherapy, community and education rooms for classes and support groups along with a dedicated American Cancer Society resource area.
