The Legendary Vapors has returned to full form now that COVID-19 restrictions have eased and plans a full slate of tribute concerts through the summer months, beginning this weekend, its operators say.
Local entrepreneur Jimmy Miller, the owner, with long-time local entertainer Tom Wilkins have "brought the nightclub back strong and they are dedicated to bringing back some great acts from Los Angeles, Nashville, Florida and beyond. Not only are the acts great, there are many surprises upcoming throughout the upcoming months," a news release said.
Tribute concerts are expected to include All the best in the Country; Liverpool Legends/Beatles; "Dreams" Fleetwood Mac Tribute; former Million Dollar Quartet (Jerry Lee Lewis/David Brooks); Journey; Bee Gees; Beach Boys; Blues Brothers "On A Mission from God;" Peter, Paul and Mary; Barbra Streisand Tribute; Lady Legends of the 70s; Motown and more, Al Green and James Brown tribute; Lee Street Lyrical and Guests; Super Tenor George Dyer; Todd Oliver and his Talking Dog "Irving;" Remnants of Rock; The Pacers; and the Garrett Sisters Gospel Revue.
The list is subject to change, the release said.
"There are few Entertainment Venues in America that have more historic value than the Legendary Vapors just off of downtown in the Park Avenue District of Hot Springs," it said.
Miller, who purchased the Vapors a few years ago, and Wilkens reopened its doors on Valentine's Day 2020 "to capacity, and followed up with a handful of successful shows, the Legendary Vapors was silenced seemingly for good as government mandates closed down the once-thriving entertainment mecca almost overnight," the release said.
"After nearly 14 months of silence, Covid retreated and life came back to the Vapors once again," it said.
