Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club recently awarded 18 scholarships to area students.
"Many of the parents and family of the scholarship recipients were able to attend and there was an air of celebration and excitement," a news release said.
Scholarship Chair Roxanne Butterfield, Sara Brown and the Scholarship Committee put the program together and selected the qualified recipients.
"The applicants were evaluated on leadership, community service, and the impact the scholarship would have on the student. The monies from these scholarships are from the Hot Springs National Park Rotary Scholarship Foundation Trust, the Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club Joe F. Fish Scholarship Endowment Fund and additional donations from our membership," the release said.
"The presentation of these scholarships to 18 worthy recipients is just another way HSNP Rotary Club shows the value that our members place on education," it said.
