Charline Carpenter Phillips, 81, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Nov. 12, 2021.

She was born June 3, 1940, in Point Cedar, Ark., to Charles Gordon and Sarah Minnie (Bennett) Carpenter.

Charline was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kelly Prince.

Survivors include daughters, Rhonda Brown (Rick), Chana Caylor (Randy); daughter-in-law, Gayla Prince; sister, Georgia Kennedy; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Charline enjoyed being a hairdresser for many years, as well as remodeling houses and collecting what she called "treasures." She enjoyed art, movies and playing cards and board games around the kitchen table. In her childhood years, she made the trip from Arkansas to California 13 times in an old Studebaker truck with her dad, mom, sister and a dog, but finally settled that Arkansas was her home. She taught her family that the most important part of life was making memories with each other and tirelessly imparted life lessons and wisdom for daily living. She loved her family and especially the times when all were gathered around good food. She will be remembered for "I'm reaping the fruit of my labor" when she gathered with family.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 27 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home on Section Line Road. Burial will be at Phillipi Church of Christ cemetery.
