SEARCY -- Martha Smith Wiley, 65, of Searcy, Ark., formerly of Hot Springs, passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021.
She was born Sept. 21, 1956, in Hot Springs, to the late Samuel and Louise Nix Smith. She grew up in Hot Springs and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1974.
She came to Christ at age 13 and joined Cottrell Chapel CME Church. As an adult, she was the vice president of the Young Adult Choir, a member of the Stewardess Board Two, a member of The Missionary Society and a member of The Usher Board. She eagerly and dutifully served the Lord and the members of the church in these positions.
In 1979, she met and married Dale A. Wiley. To that union, one child was born, a daughter, Velma Louise Wiley (Wagner).
Martha worked as a CNA until her early retirement.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Fannie Goines Grant; brother, Alvin Smith and brother, Charles Wynne.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Velma and Brian Wagner; brother, Sammie Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at Cottrell Chapel CME Church, with Pastor James Story officiating.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time.
