The Giving Team Inc.'s monthly Food for Thought event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today to provide food and resources to the community.
The event will be held in the parking lot across from the Habitat Humanity ReStore at the corner of Church Street and Malvern Avenue.
The monthly food, nutrition and resource program provides citizens with various types of social services needed for women, men and children.
The resources and agencies available on Saturday will include the following: Ouachita Behavioral & Wellness will offer a needs assessment, clothing items, tents, and tarps; Jim Rardin, free cellphones for SNAP/Medicaid recipients; Walgreens at Malvern and Grand, care products; New Life Church Outreach "Through His Eyes Ministry" will provide a hot lunch and care packages; Celebrating Teachers will offer food bags; Iron Grace Ministries will offer coffee and boys and men's clothing; the Literacy Council of Garland County; Samaritan Feet will offer shoes for all family members; Marshmallow Clouds will be offering giveaways; National Park Medical Center nurses will offer wellness checks; Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield will offer free COVID-19 vaccinations; and lunch will be provided by The Giving Team Inc., with various other social agencies present.
