PEARCY -- The Lake Hamilton School District was placed on lockdown Monday morning after an individual on campus made "threatening remarks" and was showing "aggressive behavior to school staff," according to a district spokesman.

Garland County Sheriff's Sgt. John Schroeder said the incident was still under investigation, but noted no one was injured and no arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon. The name of the individual was not being released.

"We had an individual on campus that was making threatening remarks and showing aggressive behavior to school staff," Brian Bridges, Lake Hamilton's director of communications and public relations, said in an email to The Sentinel-Record. "The LHSD immediately contacted the Garland County Sheriff's Department and school security team and went into lockdown. Students and staff remained inside with all exterior doors locked. The GCSD and school security team immediately responded to the situation and the individual was put under the custody of the GCSD and taken off of the LHSD campus."

The school district made two posts on its Facebook page on Monday morning regarding the lockdown.

The first post, made at around 10 a.m. Monday, stated, "The Lake Hamilton School District is currently under lockdown. Students and staff are remaining inside with all exterior doors locked. The Garland County Sheriffs Department and school security team are on-site and are in the process of removing the threat. The district will release more information regarding the lockdown as it becomes available."

The school district updated its post less than a half-hour later, stating, "The Lake Hamilton School District has returned to normal operations. The lockdown has been lifted. An individual on campus was making threatening remarks and showing aggressive behavior to school staff. The Garland County Sheriff's Department and school security team immediately responded to the situation. The individual is no longer on the Lake Hamilton School District campus and is in the custody of the GCSD."
