Gun Owners of Arkansas will host a forum to explain to gun owners the changes in Arkansas weapons laws on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Benton.
The forum will be held at The Osage, 1110 Ferguson Drive, Suite A, in Benton, from 2-5 p.m. Saturday. The free event is open to the public.
"GO-AR is hosting the event for educational purposes about the changes in Arkansas weapons laws made during the Arkansas 93rd General Assembly," a news release said. There will be a panel discussion with law enforcement, prosecutors, defenses attorneys and members of Gun Owners of Arkansas. Questions from the audience will follow the panel discussion.
"GO-AR believes it is important that weapons carriers be aware of the law changes because many of the changes have not been tested in the courts, including the Arkansas Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court," the release said.
"The mission of GO-AR is to educate the public and government officials on the weapons law changes, so there is a clear understanding of the changes in the laws," it said.
