First Presbyterian Church announces visiting pastor

First Presbyterian Church, 213 Whittington Ave., recently announced its new visiting pastor, who will be with them October through January, the Rev. Carol Clark.

"I'm looking forward to joining this fine congregation during this time, particularly as we celebrate the beautiful Advent/Christmas season in December. I'm SO impressed with the spirit of openness and vision of this beautiful long-established church, which continues to reach out to the community with passion and service," Clark, a PCUSA pastor, said in a news release.

Before settling into Arkansas recently, Clark was pastor of "one of the fastest-growing churches in the PCUSA and has been the leader of numerous PCUSA national youth conferences, worship conferences, and women's retreats."

Her first Sunday will be Oct. 10, with worship at 11 a.m., as she begins her ministry with, "Adventures in the Kingdom of God."
