April's Gallery Walk will continue to feature "Hot Seats in Hot Springs," 15 handcrafted Adirondack chairs individually painted by local artists that will be auctioned off later this month.

The "Hot Seats in Hot Springs" auction will take place Saturday, April 23, at Mid-America Science Museum. The chairs will be on display at various galleries during Gallery Walk, then "move to premier locations around town for viewing leading up to the grand auction and celebration," the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance said on its Facebook page advertising the event.

The participating galleries, most of which will be open from 5-9 p.m. today, include the following:

Now a resident of Hot Springs Village, Ricci devotes much of her time to art. Her subjects range from photorealistic florals in watercolor and pastel to adventurous abstracts in watercolor and collage. Exploring new mediums, Ricci began creating vibrant and colorful "paintings" with polymer clay. Also a jewelry designer, she uses metal vintage zippers, antique costume jewelry and polymer clay in her designs, a news release from the gallery said.

Ricci is a member of several arts organizations and presently serves as vice president for Artists' Workshop Gallery. Email her at [email protected] for more information.

Halderman, of Hot Springs Village, was originally from Indiana where she was an art teacher and an antiques dealer. Her preferred medium is pastels, but she also works in oil and other mediums and designs jewelry. She finds inspiration for her work in the scenery around her in Arkansas and from her travels throughout the U.S. "Using color and composition, she likes to create artwork that brings the viewer into the painting," the release said.

Halderman has taught pastel painting for a number of organizations and at National Park Community College. She has won awards both nationally and locally. She is a Signature Member and a charter member of the Arkansas Pastel Society. Email her at [email protected] for more information.
